Current clients include authors, businesses, nonprofits, foundations, Colorado Public Radio and the University of Colorado Boulder. Responsibilities include strategic communications, positioning and messaging; as well as thought leadership ghostwriting, blog and web writing, social media engagement, media releases, publications, and book writing and editing.
I also provide international field reporting and on-the-ground storytelling to amplify awareness of issues and causes, and to engage funders, donors, volunteers and other target audiences. In 2014, I traveled to Ghana with Project C.U.R.E., an international humanitarian aid organization; and to Uganda and Rwanda with the Wirth Chair in Sustainable Development and the Global Livingston Institute.
As Senior Communications Officer for The Colorado Trust – one of the state’s largest health grantmakers – I Maintained and implemented the foundation's strategic communications plan, ensured brand integrity, developed and disseminated key messages, and served as primary in-house writer and editor for all publications and other communications. Helped oversee a comprehensive rebranding effort, including a website redesign.
From there, I changed gears and joined a privately-held, Chicago-based startup. As Editorial Director for Analyte Health, Inc. – named among the top 100 digital companies in the Windy City – I established an editorial department, and recruited and managed a team of writers and experts for online clinics; developed original content, including video scripts, Q&As, commentaries, blogs and other social media; worked closely with medical staff to ensure that editorial content matched clinical guidelines; and proofed and finalized all copy. Also developed editorial policies and workflows to ensure that all published content was accurate, differentiated, on-brand and legally compliant.
